Political Philosophy and Cinema Event by the International Relations Society
08/05/2021
The International Relations Society (UIT) organized an event on political philosophy and cinema on December 21, 2018. In the event, political symbolism, ontological philosophy and social structure analysis were made through the movie called Matrix. Dr. Ali Fuat Birol provided analysis examples on the concepts of nihilism, simulation, freedom, and power relations regarding the film. UIT Supervisor Mesut Taştekin emphasized that such activities will be held periodically as the examples of relational analysis between cinema and political theory would be an intellectual contribution for students.
